Letter from our solder: Anastasiya Kholodinina (summer 2025)
Posted on July 1, 2025
Dear friends at Zionist House and RJCF,
I'm happy to write you this update letter again. A few things in my life have changed since the last letter I wrote.
I moved from Haifa to Tirat Carmel in January. I used to live alone in my previous apartment, and now I live with a roommate.
We found a great connection despite the age difference — she’s 20 years old and a soldier in the army, and I’m five years older than her. It’s a real blessing to have found such a wonderful girl to live with and share experiences.
I also changed my workplace due to the move. Now I work at a cannabis farm in Moshav Megadim as a security guard. It’s a very convenient job to combine with my studies. I don’t work and study on the same day — it’s either a study day or a work day, which works very well for me.
Aside from that, everything is going well. I’m already in my second year of the Behavioral Science degree, and in that area, everything is routine.
Regarding my volunteering with the Big Brother organization, everything is going great. I’m currently mentoring three amazing soldiers. I used to have four, but one female soldier was discharged this past December. All the soldiers are very mature and independent.
In general, the organization does so much for lone soldiers, and that brings me a lot of joy. It’s always fun to attend the organization’s meetups and see all the other volunteers and their soldiers.
I would like to thank you for your generous IMPACT scholarship donation, it helps me a lot during my studies.
Best wishes,
Anastasiya Kholodinina
